My name is Federica Ottonello and I'm in year 8, this is my MYP Arts Process Journal. On this blog you will find documented evidence of my learning through The Arts | Drama | Music. This term I am starting my learning journey in Drama. My strongest subject is Drama and I want to develop my skills in Music but especially Art.
The Villain:
The villain is basically the bad guy, he is clever and sly; criminal mastermind. He usually wears black and dark colors, with a cape or a cloak. And has a handlebar mustache, which he likes a lot to play with in a menacingly way. He is manipulative and tries to get everyone on the bad side. Most of the time, when the villain comes in, special music comes on to alert the audience that the evil guy is coming. The villain also, most of the time has a henchman or someone who helps him to complete his plans.
The Damsel:
The damsel in distress is a very innocent and clueless young woman, who is at the mercy of the villain; in poor words she is the victim of the villain. She is usually not very smart and reacts in an over-exaggerated way when she gets captured by the villain. She is very ladylike and posh - most of the time she is very attractive and beautiful. She is always in great danger and is always in a desperate need to be saved/rescued by the hero; in other words her 'prince charming'.
The Hero:
The hero, on the other hand, is the good guy; the complete opposite of the villain. The hero always does right and he is the one who rescues the damsel from the evil villain, basically saves the day. His good side sometimes gets into the way of his intelligence meaning that he is not the cleverest one. He is courageous, strong and romantic, and physically attractive - handsome. Most of the time he is the character which is loved by the girls/ ladies.
The Henchman:
The henchman is the sidekick of the villain; he does the dirty work of the villain. So usually the villain is the brain and the henchman does all the killing; things that villain doesn't want to do. The henchman is often abused or teased/ insulted by the villain for his incapability to do things that instead the villain can do. Even though the villain is quite strong and evil, he is very obedient and most of the time is the henchman doesn't obey the villain, he will suffer severe consequences.
