Final Week - Putting everything together

Here are examples of videos that Tereza and I have filmed after school and in lunch breaks

She ran into the ICT lab...

She checked if the AC was on

She looked everywhere...

This week we have completed filming all our scenes/ taking pictures, now the only thing that we have to do it to edit all of the scenes and put them together in a whole video. We are planning to edit the scenes all in black and white to give an old and scary effect, also we will be putting the sound effects which the art group has recorded into the video. The music group will be playing a background music, live on the day and some sound effects as well but most of them will be in the video. I am going to be the narrator so my job now is to practice saying the story so I don't mess up on the day. I want the audience to feel uncomfortable as well as on the edge of their seat, especially because we want the audience to be part of the story, so for certain lines we will have a fan, splashes of water etc. I want them to feel terrified and that something scary is going to happen to them any minute. We haven't yet heard what the whole video sounds like with the sound effects and the music but we will have a dress rehearsal on Sunday to check that it all fits together.

Action Plan

In this weeks lesson we got together we the music group and discussed what we had done over the past two weeks and then got told to create an action plan and put it on a PowerPoint. Below is our group's PowerPoint (this same PowerPoint is also on our Blendspace page). I must say that the music group is doing a fantastic and that some of the sound effects that they have got ready sound amazing. I simply can't wait for us to put it all together and see a final product.

Week 4 - Photography

Task - Using Photographic techniques and effects to create scary images

This week we used iPads to  take portrait pictures as well as full body pictures, I worked with Tereza and we actually managed to take really good pictures even though we started off really badly. To take scary and mysterious pictures Tereza and I used the flashlight on her phone to play around with the light Also we used pieces of fabric to create a more haunted effect and we took a range of pictures (side pictures, front pictures and back pictures). Then we discovered that if you went onto photo-booth there was this effect called X-ray which created the most scariest and creepiest portrait pictures. In addition to that we took all the pictures in the dark to give a gloomy effect in the background. We positioned the flashlight under my chin, under my toes, next to my face etc. and I must admit that I had a lot of fun and enjoyed myself a lot throughout this week.

Here are examples of the images Tereza and I took:

We actually took more pictures and we did send them to ourselves but they didn't show up in our email and I only noticed it the next day which meant that I couldn't go find them because the iPad that we were using didn't have a number. But I am still searching for them and I even went to the ICT guys and asked if they could find it and they said that they will be searching for them (work in progress) so as soon as I find them, I will post them on the blog. These images will not necessarily be part of the Phantasmagoria  Show but I will use them as inspiration to take the pictures that we need. For example I could use the black and white filter to add a more gloomy effect to the picture with the eyes that we took last lesson (there is a part in the story where the girl sees eyes in a mirror. All of these images relate to my story because most of them are portrait and in my story there are a lot moments where we see the girl a lot so portrait pictures are perfect. Also there is a scene where the girl has a flashback and we could use the X-ray effect which would look really cool as a flashback, because flashbacks are usually very bright. I can't wait for the next lessons when we will be learning how to take moving images and edit/Photoshop existing pictures that we already took without any filters .
