PowerPoint Presentation & Proposal

During this term of Music, we will have the task to produce a sculpture which creates sounds and music. The sculpture can be based off an animal, an object or a person however the main challenge will be figuring out how to transform it in a musical piece and give the sculpture life. I had to choose a group that I would be comfortable with and know that they would work hard, be independent and creative. The group needed 2 music students and 2 art students, however there had to be mix of both boys and girls which I find fair and very interesting as sometimes I find that working with an opposite, you not only work better but have more creative ideas as they think differently than you. My group consists of Michail and I, the music students, and Aria and ATM, the art students.  We have around 10 weeks to complete an abstract and functioning project and present it to the class.

The task this week was to create a PowerPoint presentation about 2 artists and 2 musicians that created sculptures which produced sounds and music. We had to show examples of their work, how they created their sculpture and the materials they used and link all the information to our idea and how we will used it when creating and constructing our model. The second part of the PowerPoint consists of our proposal and our idea for how we will be creating the sculpture. We will inform the class on the materials, the original idea and sketches for a more visual understanding, the link between artists and our project as well as how we are going to make it functional and the music behind the sculpture.

We presented our PowerPoint to the class, and got some excellent feedback from my peers and teachers. They liked the way, we had a variety of media such as videos, pictures, sketches, music and sound samples. We were well informed on our  information and no one read off the board which is always a sign of great understanding. To improve our presentation, we had to have less writing on each slide and not repeat the same points over and over again. However our presentation was well presented and I am very proud of my team.

Here is our presentation:
